Spring

What happened to April?

April has flown by!  Sorry I have not posted in awhile!  I do have some pretty exciting updates for you. Yesterday I attended a creative women’s brunch.  It was for creatives like bloggers, artists, shop owners, photographers and many other female entrepreneurs. The venue was right up my alley.  Exposed brick and old chippy walls!  It was held at The Nest in Birmingham.  The perfect spot for a gathering like this.  The wood table tops with the white metal chairs made…

Happy Spring and Fairy Gardens

Well it’s officially Spring!  Is it warm where you live?  It is feeling more like Spring here in Alabama.  In honor of the first day of Spring I thought I’d share with you the fairy gardens we made last year! These were so fun to make!  Don’t you just love miniature anything?  Fairies are surrounded with whimsy and imagination.  Watching my girls light up as we placed the furniture around and secret door by the tree was awesome.  I wish they really…

Our Easter Mantle

With Easter being later this year I felt like I had more time to decorate for the holiday.  Plus my girls love helping!  As much as I love neutrals, Spring is a time to bring in color.  I start missing color this time of year so it helps to have cheerful décor around the house.  Don’t be afraid to incorporate a little color in your surroundings! I like adding little touches all over the house but the mantle is what…

An Easter Garden

To celebrate Ash Wednesday the girls stayed home from school and after Mass we created our own Easter Garden!  I’ve seen several versions of these on Pinterest and always wanted to make one.  They are also called Resurrection Gardens.  It’s a great hands on way to tell your children about Jesus’ resurrection. First you will need a clay saucer and small pot. Turn your small pot on its side.  This will be your tomb. Next you will need some potting soil.  Fill…

This weekend we celebrated the upcoming wedding of our two friends, Bonnie and Paul, with a lovely cherry blossom themed bridal shower.  My friend Ashley styled the event-I was in charge of drinks this time ;)  This theme was light and airy with spring blooms and shades of pink.  Perfect for spring and perfect for LOVE. Enjoy some pics from Saturday….   The pretty invitations that gave a sneak peek to guests of what was to come. The all important…

Crudite Centerpiece

I just love this centerpiece idea from Martha!  BONUS-it doubles as your appetizer server.  So easy to do and looks great too.   How-To: Buy a large deep galvanized metal planter at your local hardware store.  Fill the bottom with sprouts (alfalfa maybe) and pour in enough water just to moisten them.  Arrange your favorite veggies and serve with a light dip.  Voila! More Wine Tasting Details

I found these lovely jars over at Celebrations at Home.  They are perfect for my white wine tasting coming up!  We just bought some mason jars for canning our vegetables.  All I need is moss and butterflies.  Like Chris said, they remind me of catching fireflies in the summertime!  I will probably set them on the tables with white votives scattered around them.  Thanks for the great inspiration, Chris!  (images from Celebrations at Home) …
