So, what are two things that go perfectly with Christmas parties? Cocktails and Christmas cookies, of course! I had so much fun setting up this festive area in our kitchen! This built in hutch with glass cabinets is perfect for party fare. You could also set this up at your kitchen island or table! Old […]
We are officially moved into our new home! I haven’t done much decorating yet but I did style our dining room table! I had the opportunity recently to create my first Thanksgiving table with Old Time Pottery! I’ve styled fall tables in the past but we are usually not home for Thanksgiving so this was […]
One of my most favorite places to decorate is our breakfast nook! Its such a cozy spot to have a cup of coffee and look out the window. When Old Time Pottery wanted to help me decorate a Christmas table, I knew this one would be fun. They have so much cute Christmas tableware! As […]
Things are in full holiday swing over here! Starting with the front porch. I was so happy Old Time Pottery wanted to collaborate again on our porch decorations. It is a really fun area to decorate! So, you may remember our Spooky Porch had witch hats hanging from the ceiling. I really liked what they […]
Here’s a “rough draft” of an idea: you could get a round box(like a hat box)and embelish it to look like a birthday cake. Then add the number “30” on top(made from wood or chipboard). Maybe add a circle of tealights around the numbers. You could embelish the “cake” with ribbons, flowers, and other fun trimmings, to match the other decor.

That is a wonderful idea! I wonder if I could make two layer ones out of cardboard? What would you use to wrap it with-birthday wrapping paper?
I think a coordinating wrapping paper would work well. You could google some images for cake centerpieces or even diaper cakes to get some ideas.
Maybe you don’t need to use the actual numeral 30. Maybe you could so centerpieces that included 30 things (eg. 30 tealights on a long spanish-looking tray), or 30 little tea roses. What would look really cute is if you got some of those mini topiary trees and around the base of the pot, but 30 mini tea roses circling it. That would look adorable.
Anything in lots of 30 would look cute! 30 mini breadsticks standing in a basket with strands of wheat, anything!
Whatever you do, please share pics!
How about wrapping the candles with a rustic handmade paper leaving at leas 2″ at the top of the bottom so that the candle shows. Add a photo of the birthday person, I’m thinking a b&w photo matted on coordinating cardstock on the handmade paper. Tie with raffia. Either Photoshop 30 onto the corner of the photo or find number charms. If you are using number charms, tie them to the raffia.
You could get unfinished wooden boxes from a craft store (about 8 inches square or larger, depending on the size of the table). Distress and stain (or paint) them. On the sides of the box screw the house numbers 30 (you can use brass or wrought iron). I did these for my husbands 50th, and used them for my flower arrangements. Or, you could put a large tree branch in the box and hang the numbers 3 & 0 as well as pictures of the birthday boy or girl. I also collected old house numbers and scattered them on the tabletops.
Thank you all so much! These are such creative ideas!
